Women in the Wikimedia movement conversation series at WikiCamp Nepal 2018?[संपादित करें]
Hi Sushma Sharma,
apologies for writing in English. My name is María Cruz, I am a communications and outreach manager at the Wikimedia Foundation, working in the Community Engagement department. This year, I started a new project called "Women in the Wikimedia movement", a conversation where I invited a number of women leaders in our movement to talk about the work they are doing and discuss the challenges they face as women leaders in Wikimedia. I hosted 3 events during March, and 1 in-person event at Wikimania. The conversations turned out really well, with participants sharing a lot of valuable experiences of what it means to work open (you can read this in the report). The most important take away for me was that women need to meet more and talk about these issues more often.
So I write to you now because I wanted to ask you if you would like to host a local conversation with women in Nepal. I saw on the WikiCamp Nepal 2018 program that you will be hosting a session about gender gap and outreach. This activity I'm proposing would be in addition to what you have in mind for the session, I'm not proposing that you change your plans :-). To support you, and other women that would like to organize conversations like this, I created an organizer's guide. I'm also going to be reaching out to सृजना तिम्सिना with this idea, maybe you two can organize something together? If you record the conversation, I can then also add it to our YouTube channel, and if you are interested, we can livestream that, so that other people in Nepal can watch online.

- Here are some recent updates and clarification of rules for you, and as always, let me know if you have any idea, thought or question.
- Additional souvenirs (e.g. postcard) will be sent to Ambassadors and active organizers.
- A participant's article count is combined on all language Wikipedias they have contributed to
- Only Wikipedia Asian Month on Wikipedia or Wikivoyage projects count (no WikiQuote, etc.)
- The global top 3 article count will only be eligible on Wikipedias where the WAM article requirement is at least 3,000 bytes and 300 words.
- If your community accepts an extension for articles, you should set up a page and allow participants to submit their contributions there.
- In case of redirection not allowed submitting in Fountain tool, a workaround is to delete it, copy and submit again. Or a submission page can be used too.
- Please make sure enforce the rules, such as proper references, notability, and length.
- International organizers will double check the top 3 users' accepted articles, so if your articles are not fulfilling the rules, they might be disqualified. We don't want it happened so please don't let us make such a decision.

- If you faced problem submitting articles via judging tool, use this meta page to do so. Please spread this message with local participants.
- Here are what will come after the end of WAM
- Make sure you judge all articles before December 7th, and participants who can improve their contribution (not submit) before December 10th.
- Participates still can submit their contribution of November before December 5th at this page. Please let your local wiki participates know. Once you finish the judging, please update this page after December 7th
- There will be three round of address collection scheduled: December 15th, December 20th, and December 25th.
- Please report the local Wikipedia Asian Ambassador (who has most accepted articles) on this page, if the 2nd participants have more than 30 accepted articles, you will have two ambassadors.

Wiki Loves Love (WLL) is an International photography competition of Wikimedia Commons to subject love testimonials happening in the month of February 2019.
The primary goal of the competition is to document love testimonials through human cultural diversity such as monuments, ceremonies, snapshot of tender gesture, and miscellaneous objects used as symbol of love; to illustrate articles in the worldwide free encyclopedia Wikipedia, and other Wikimedia Foundation (WMF) projects. February is around the corner and Wiki Loves Love team invites you to organize and promote WLL19 in your country and join hands with us to celebrate love and document it on Wikimedia Commons. The theme of 2019 is Festivals, ceremonies and celebrations of love.
To organize Wiki Loves Love in your region, sign up at WLL Organizers page. You can also simply support and spread love by helping us translate the commons page in your local language which is open for translation.
The contest starts runs from 1-28 February 2019. Recently we have been helped by Hindi wikipedia users in copyediting translation of english wikipedia article en:Kithaab to Hindi wikipedia article किताब (नाटक)। The article is about a play on women rights issues.
The english wikipedia article is already being translated in various global languages। & we are looking forward to getting it translated in various Indian languages including ur: from Hindi wikipedia article किताब (नाटक) before we go forward in getting translated in other Indian languages we wish that preferably translated article article किताब (नाटक) is reviewed by some one from Hindi wikipedia once more। So there chances of mistakes in other Indian languages will be lesser।

We are glad to inform you that Project Tiger 2.0/GLOW is going to start very soon. You know about Project Tiger first iteration where we saw exciting and encouraging participation from different Indian Wikimedia communities. To know about Project Tiger 1.0 please see this page
Like project Tiger 1.0, This iteration will have 2 components
- Infrastructure support - Supporting Wikimedians from India with internet support for 6 months and providing Chromebooks. Application is open from 25th August 2019 to 14 September 2019. To know more please visit
- Article writing contest - A 3-month article writing contest will be conducted for Indian Wikimedians communities. Following community feedback, we noted some community members wanted the process of article list generation to be improved. In this iteration, there will be at least two lists of articles
- Google-generated list,
- Community suggested list. Google generated list will be given to the community members before finalising the final list. On the other hand, the community may create a list by discussing among the community over Village pump, Mailing list and similar discussion channels.

Hope you are all doing well! Now it's a great time to sign up for the 2019 Wikipedia Asian Month, which will take place in November this year (29 days left!). Here are some updates and improvements we will make for upcoming WAM. If you have any suggestions or thoughts, feel free to discuss on the meta talk page.
- Please add your language project by 24th October 2019. Please indicate if you need multiple organisers by 29th October.
- Please update your community members about you being the organiser of the WAM.
- We want to host many onsite Edit-a-thons all over the world this year. If you would like to host one in your city, please take a look and sign up at this page.
- Please encourage other organizers and participants to sign-up in this page to receive updates and news on Wikipedia Asian Month.
