वंगाला

वंगाला (Wangala) भारत के पूर्वोत्तर में स्थित मेघालय राज्य और उत्तरी बांग्लादेश के कुछ क्षेत्रों में बसने वाले गारो समुदाय द्वारा नवम्बर के महीने में फ़सल-कटाई से सम्बन्धित एक उत्सव है। गारो भाषा में 'वंगाला' का अर्थ 'सौ ढोल' है और इस त्योहार में पारम्परिक गारो आस्थाओं के 'सलजोंग' नामक सूर्य-देवता का सम्मान किया जाता है जो फ़सल के अधिदेवता भी माने जाते हैं।[1][2]
