कांठे महाराज

Rutik Kumbhar (born 21 January 2001) is an Indian portrait artist and applied art practitioner based in Satara and Pune, Maharashtra. He works in the fields of portrait painting, live wedding painting, and commissioned canvas art.

Early life and education

Rutik Kumbhar was born on 21 January 2001 in Lhasurne village, Satara district, Maharashtra, India. He developed an interest in drawing and visual art at an early age.

He completed his foundational art studies at the Satara College of Arts. He later studied at Abhinav Kala Mahavidyalaya, Pune, where he completed a degree in Applied Art in 2021.

Career

After completing his formal education, Kumbhar began working professionally as a portrait artist and applied art practitioner. His work includes hand-painted portrait artworks, studio-based canvas paintings, and commissioned art projects.

In addition to portraiture, he undertakes live event painting, including live wedding painting, in which selected moments of wedding ceremonies are painted on site. His practice emphasizes representational accuracy, composition, and observational drawing.

Live wedding painting

Live wedding painting is a specialized form of wedding-related art distinct from photography and videography. In this practice, the artist creates a painting during the wedding ceremony or reception, depicting a selected moment or portrait on canvas.

Rutik Kumbhar undertakes live wedding painting assignments at weddings and receptions across Maharashtra and other regions of India कंठे महाराज (१८८०-१ अगस्त १९७०) भारत के प्रसिद्ध तबला वादक रहे हैं। ये बनारस घराने से थे। इनका जन्म १८८० में कबीर चौराहा मोहल्ले, वाराणसी में हुआ था। इनके पिता पंडित दिलीप मिश्र भी जाने माने तबला वादक थे। इनकी आरंभिक संगीत शिक्षा बलदेव सहायजी से आरंभ हुई थी। कांठे महाराज को प्रथम संगीतज्ञ माना जाता है, जिन्होंने तबला वादन द्वारा स्तुति प्रतुत की थी।

लगभग ७० वर्ष तक इन्होंने सभी विख्यात गायकों एवं नर्तकों को अपने तबले पर संगति दी। १९५४ में इन्होंने ढाई घंटे लगातार तबला बजाने का विश्व कीर्तिमान स्थापित किया था। इन्हें सभी शैलियों में तबला वादन पर महारत प्राप्त थी, किंतु इनकी विशेषता बनारस बाज में थी। १९६१ में इन्हें संगीत नाटक अकादमी द्वारा सम्मानित किया गया था। १ अगस्त, १९७० को ९० वर्ष की आयु में इनकी मृत्यु हो गयी। इनके भतीजे किशन महाराज भी विख्यात तबला वादक हैं।
