चीन के नक़्शे पर वू भाषाएँ बोलने वाले इलाक़े

वू चीनी (चीनी: 吴语) चीन के झेजिआंग प्रान्त, दक्षिणी जिआंगसु प्रान्त और शन्घाई शहर में बोलीं जाने वाली चीनी भाषा की उपभाषाओं का एक गुट है। इन भाषाओँ में प्राचीन चीनी भाषा की कुछ ऐसी चीज़ें अभी भी प्रयोग की जाती हैं जो आधुनिक चीनी की अन्य भाषाओँ में लुप्त हो चुकी हैं। अन्य चीनी भाषाएँ बोलने वालों को वू भाषा मुलायम और बहती हुई प्रतीत होती है। चीनी में एक 'वूनोंगरुआनयु' (吴侬软语, wúnóngruǎnyǔ) शब्द इस्तेमाल किया जाता है, जिसका मतलब है 'वू की नाज़ुक बोली'।[1] चीन में लगभग ८ करोड़ लोग वू भाषाएँ बोलते हैं।[2]
