We believe that it is important to spread the concept of free knowledge in India and so it is proposed to start an India chapter of the Wikimedia Foundation website.

Such a chapter can help coordinate various Indian language Wikipedias and spread the Wikipedia word in India. Contribution participation in related discussion from local Indian language wikipedians is missing and local wikipedians are kindly requested to participate in the same on priority you may visit related pages on meta at Category:Wikimedia India

Hello India!

I am from Austria and need information about a Viennese writer in Hindi - I want to surprise four Indian friends of mine who speak Hindi as their native language but work in Austria. We are all interested in contemporary literature and we are discussing a lot about German and Indian books. I would be pleased if someone could translate the Wikipedia page of the writer Klaus Ebner to Hindi. He is an author whose text I appreciate highly. Unfortunately there is no translation of his works to Hindi (nor to English, except some short texts). It would be a great surprise if I could present this author to my friends with information in their own language. If you would do me this favor, I indicate below the English and the German page, which have almost the same content.

Since there have been misunderstandings, I want to clarify that I do not ask for a "private" translation for me. I want the article about this writer, which exists in many other Wikis, translated to Hindi, too. Please understand my request as a pointer to this Austrian writer, and a kickoff for another article on literature in the Hindi Wikipedia. Thank you very much.

Jimmy wales and two other wikimedia foundation members will be in Thiruvananthapuram to attend the fsfs conference on the 10th and 11th of December 2008. The fsfs and space-kerala organizers has provided an opportunity for Malayalam wikipedians to participate, conduct a session/panel discussion related to Malayalam Wikipedia in that conference.

We are planning to have a meeting with Jimmy Wales and team after our sessions. We would like to know your interest in joining with us for this meeting. It'll be written as "डोरिस एंटनी" in Hindi. It can also be written as "दोरिस एंटनी". Actually in Hindi, there are two sounds for "Do". "डो" and "दो". Pronunciation depends on the context. The first one will be pronunced as "Do in Door" and the second one as "D in Dar es Salaam". I don't know that how do you pronunce this name, but a native English speaker will pronunce it as in "Door" and a native Japanese speaker will pronunce it as in "Dar es Salaam". --Rohit Rawat ११:०६, ३ अप्रैल २००९ (IST)

Hi! I'm from Polish Wiktionary. We are translating names of our main templates into various languages (our top 50) in order to help users who don’t speak Polish understand our articles. When they change language in preferences, they’ll see those words in bold in their native language, so they can understand the article and edit it. I wonder if you would be helpful and translate for us just a few linguistic terms into Hindi. How about that?
