तुलनात्मक साहित्य

तुलनात्मक साहित्य (Comparative literature) वह विद्या-शाखा है जिसमें दो या अधिक भिन्न भाषायी, राष्ट्रीय या सांस्कृतिक समूहों के साहित्य का अध्ययन किया जाता है। तुलना इस अध्ययन का मुख्य अंग है। अंग्रेजी के कवि मैथ्यू आर्नल्ड ने सबसे पहले सन् १८४८ में अपने एक पत्र में 'कम्परेटिव लिटरेचर' पद का उल्लेख किया था।
