मुक्त फ़ाइलों के अपलोड पर अवरोध लगाने हेतु विचार

मेरे ख्याल से हमें हिंदी विकिपीडिया पर मुक्त फाइलों के अपलोड पर अवरोध लगा देना चाहिए, यह फाइलें कोमन्स पर अपलोड होनी चाहिए। मुक्त फ़ाइलों में Public Domain वाली फाइलें भी आती है जिनके नियम काफी जटिल है, हमारे यहां इतने सदस्य नहीं है जो इनके नियमों से परिचित हो, और इन मुक्त फाइलों को पेट्रोल करे। सूचना: यह प्रस्ताव नहीं है, बस मुक्त फ़ाइलों के अपलोड पर अवरोध लगाने हेतु बाकी सदस्यों के विचार/सुझाव जानने का एक प्रयास है। -- केप्टनविराज (चर्चा) 05:25, 3 सितंबर 2020 (UTC)

Participate in user research to design data diversity tools - humaniki [Registration Open]

Merger of Denelezh and WHGI projects into 'humaniki'

What do Wikipedians need to make more diverse content? Better redlink listmaking? Highlighting more translation opportunities? Building editathon and campaign tracking software? Something else?

‘Humaniki’ is the merging of two previous Wikimedia data tools for diversity-focused editors - Wikidata Human Gender Indicators (WHGI) and Denelezh. Both of these previous projects enabled statistics about the biography gender gap in Wikimedia projects, but now need extra work to make those insights actionable for editors. This new WMF-grant-funded project seeks to do that work by participatory co-designing features with the editor community. Hello everyone, my apologies for posting in English.

This is a gentle note to mention that I'll be posting some messages in this wiki shortly. I apologize in advance if these messages are viewed are disruptive. The intent here is to request users attention about an e-mail they received earlier this month and which may have been marked as spam. The annual survey is an important way for the communities to share their views and concerns with the Foundation. Based on community feedback from the previous years, we’re considering moving away from the three repeated pings historically used. The e-mails we've sent request the consent (opt-in) of contributors so that, moving forward, we can e-mail them instead of sending on-wiki messages. So the plan is to eliminate the annual disruption and rely only on opt-in email recipients. You may read more about the discussion surrounding this survey here.

New Beta Feature next week

The Editing team is working on mw:Talk pages project/replying. The Reply tool is one result of the big mw:Talk pages consultation 2019, which your community participated in. Editing is planning to offer the Reply tool to your community as a Beta Feature soon, probably on Wednesday, 14 October. The Reply tool has been used to make more than 25,000 comments at about 20 wikis so far.

Here's what you need to know:

• Using the Reply tool is optional. The Beta Feature will be turned off. If you want to try it, you will need to go to Special:Preferences#mw-prefsection-betafeatures and turn it on next Wednesday (or maybe Thursday).
• There are a few things that you might want to check.
  • Check mw:Help:DiscussionTools/Why can't I reply to this comment? for information about "unsigned" templates and other information.
  • Some languages use a particular style for signatures. For example, Japanese does not add a space between the comment and the signature. I don't think that's the case here, but if I've guessed wrong, then you can define the signature format for all users at MediaWiki:Discussiontools-signature-prefix.
  • Missing or wrong translations can be fixed at Translatewiki.net.
• If you have questions or encounter problems, please leave a note at mw:Talk:Talk pages project/replying. That's the fastest way to reach the devs.

Reverting my edits

नमस्ते, मैंने कुछ दिन पहले अपने ही वंश के बारे में बहुत सारी गलत जानकारी देखी और मैंने उसे बदलने का सोचा और मैंने पुरे ठोस सबूतों के साथ संपादन किया और वो कन्फर्म भी होगया पर कुछ विकिपीडिया एडमिनिस्ट्रेटर्स जो पक्सपात कर रहे है और बार बार मेरा संपादन को हटा रहे है और वो भी बिना किसी कारण के और यही जब कुछ दिन पहले जिन्होंने आर्टिकल में गलत लिखा था तब उन्होंने कुछ नहीं किया,जो की बिलकुल सही नहीं है। और मेरे वंश के बारे मैं कुछ भी उलझुलु लिख रहे है जो की मैं बिलकुल सहन नहीं करूंगा और वो ऐसा क्यों कर रहे ये मैं नहीं जानता पर उनका ऐसा पक्सपात करना सही नहीं इसलिए मैं विनर्म निवेदन करता हूँ की कृपया उन्हें समझएं की वो ऐसा न करे!धन्यवादEroberar (वार्ता) 15:06, 15 अक्टूबर 2020 (UTC)

ऐसा कई जगह दिख रहा है। लगता है कि कुछ लोग कन्ट्रिब्यूट करके बड़े आदमी बन गए हैं और वो जो चाहते हैं वो होता है। मैंने कई शिकायतें चिट्ठा विकि पेज के बारे में दी हैं लेकिन उनको अनसुना करके कॉम्प्लैनट्स को हटा देते हैं और कोई इम्प्रूव्मन्ट करो तो रीवर्ट कर देते हैं। अब बताइए कौन ब्लॉग को चिट्ठा या blogosphere को चिट्ठाजगत कहता है? इन पेजों मे जो जानकारी है या अपूर्ण है या जानबूझ कर गलत लगईई गई है ताकि कुछ ऑर्डनेरी किस्म की websites को backlink दिए जा सकें। ये लोग विकिपिडिया के स्तर को कम कर रहे हैं।

We will change it such that it will only remove special characters. The existing rmwhitespace() can be used to remove spaces whenever applicable.

As reported on https://phabricator.wikimedia.org/P12854 we believe at least one filter on your wiki has been identified to use the rmspecials() function. Please consider updating these filters by wrapping rmspecials() inside rmwhitespace() like this: rmwhitespace(rmspecials(....))

We need you to update the relevant filters within 2 weeks of this notice. If one of the community members with proper access is volunteering to take this on, we ask them to please respond below and notify User:Huji in their response or in the edit summary. If we don't hear back from you within 2 weeks, Huji will edit the relevant filters on your wiki per the global abuse filter maintainer policy, to ensure the filters won't break once the change is implemented. Modelling Article Quality: स्वचालित रूप से लेखों की गुणवत्ता को मापने के लिए Machine Learning मॉडल का उपयोग करने में बहुत अच्छा भविष्य है। हम कार्य करने के लिए ORES का उपयोग करते हैं और मॉडल के कार्यान्वयन के लिए, एक Dataset बनाए जाने की योजना है, जिस पर Article Quality मॉडल बनाया जाएगा। HiWiki में गुणवत्ता का मानक EnWiki की तरह नहीं हैं। EnWiki से लेख गुणवत्ता मानक टेम्पलेट HiWiki पर आयात किए गए थे, लेकिन वे अधूरे अनुवाद और संशोधित किए गए प्रतीत होते हैं। हम सभी समस्याओं पर काम करेंगे तथा परियोजना की पूर्ति के लिए समर्थन की आवश्यकता है |

Global bot policy proposal: invitation to a Meta discussion

I apologize for sending a message in English. कृपया अपनी भाषा में अनुवादित करने में सहायता करें. According to the list, your wiki project currently is opted in to the global bot policy. Under this policy, bots that fix double redirects or maintain interwiki links are allowed to operate under a global bot flag that is assigned directly by the stewards.

As the Wikimedia projects developed, the need for the current global bot policy decreased, and in the past years, no bots were appointed via that policy. That is mainly given Wikidata were estabilished in 2013, and it is no longer necessary to have dozens of bots that maintain interwiki links.

A proposal was made at Meta-Wiki, which proposes that the stewards will be authorized to determine whether an uncontroversial task may be assigned a global bot flag. The stewards already assign permissions that are more impactful on many wikis, namely, global sysops and global renamers, and I do not think that trust should be an issue. The stewards will assign the permission only to time-proven bots that are already approved at a number of projects, like ListeriaBot.

Wikidata descriptions changes to be included more often in Recent Changes and Watchlist

As you may know, you can include changes coming from Wikidata in your Watchlist and Recent Changes (in your preferences). Until now, this feature didn’t always include changes made on Wikidata descriptions due to the way Wikidata tracks the data used in a given article.

Starting on December 3rd, the Watchlist and Recent Changes will include changes on the descriptions of Wikidata Items that are used in the pages that you watch. This will only include descriptions in the language of your wiki to make sure that you’re only seeing changes that are relevant to your wiki.

This improvement was requested by many users from different projects. We hope that it can help you monitor the changes on Wikidata descriptions that affect your wiki and participate in the effort of improving the data quality on Wikidata for all Wikimedia wikis and beyond.

Note: if you didn’t use the Wikidata watchlist integration feature for a long time, feel free to give it another chance! The feature has been improved since the beginning and the content it displays is more precise and useful than at the beginning of the feature in 2015.

A/B test for the Reply tool

The mw:Editing team is building the Reply tool. This new tool was requested during the mw:Talk pages consultation 2019. If you want, you can turn it on now at Special:Preferences#mw-prefsection-betafeatures.

The Editing team would like to test the tool. They want to study whether it works better, especially for new editors. In the test, they will turn on the Reply tool for half of editors sometime during the week of 14 December 2020. They will not change preferences for the other editors. You will still be able to turn it on or off yourself in Special:Preferences.

The test will run for several weeks. The results will be posted at mw:Talk pages project/replying#Metrics in late January or February. The test results will help Wikipedia editors and the Editing team decide whether the tool should be turned on for everyone.
