Muhammad Farooq Chishti , MLA of the first assembly of Uttar Pradesh , India . In the Legislative Assembly elections of 1952 , he participated in the election from the Congress from the 318-Deoria (northeast) assembly constituency of Deoria district of Uttar Pradesh . After the efforts of Anwarul Haq Chisti, the key character of Jung-e-Azadi and close associate of Mahatma Gandhi, Maulana Mazharul Haq, his elder brother Hamid Chisti left the British and joined the fight for independence. Because of this, the Chishti House was set up as a place of festival for freedom fighters. After the Independence, In 1950, the first by-elections were held in four assembly constituencies in the state, where Farooq Chishti of Congress won. In addition to winning the general elections in 1952 and winning in 1957, But he lost in 1962. In 1967, for the third time he became a legislator.
