Moving Pages

सर्वप्रथम, आपका हिन्दी विकिपीडिया पर हार्दिक स्वागत है।

आपने हाल ही में कलिंग का टेक्स्ट कट कर के कळिङ्ग पर पेस्ट किया है। यह विकिपीडिया पर लेखों के नाम बदलने का गलत तरीका है क्योंकि इससे लेख का लाइसेंस टूट जाता है।

सही तरीका है "इतिहास देखें" टैब के दाहिनी ओर की ऐरो पर कर्सर लिजाना और उसके मेन्यू में से "स्थानांतरण करें" ऑप्शन चुनना। ऐसा करने पर एक पन्ना खुलेगा जिसपर आपको केवल लेख के लिये नया नाम बताना होगा। जब आप नया नाम बताकर "नाम बदलें" पर क्लिक करेंगे तो लेख का नाम अपने-आप बदल दिया जाएगा और पुराने नाम से नए नाम को एक पुनर्निर्देश(redirect) भी बना दिया जाएगा।

I see that you recently cut all text from कलिंग and pasted it to कळिङ्ग. This is an incorrect way of moving articles on wikipedia since it breaks the licensing of the page concerned as the history of the page is not copied with the page.

The correct way of moving or renaming articles is to use the move feature. Using this, you don't have to manually cut and paste the text. That is automatically done for you. A redirect is also created from the old page to the new page.

To move a page, take the mouse cursor to the arrow beside the history link. An option "Move" will appear. Click on this option. On the page that opens, enter the new name you want and click OK. And that's all that you need to do to move a page.--सिद्धार्थ घई (वार्ता) 14:55, 12 नवम्बर 2011 (UTC)
