The Wikimedia Foundation Board of Trustees is organizing a call for feedback about community selection processes between February 1 and March 14. While the Wikimedia Foundation and the movement have grown about five times in the past ten years, the Board’s structure and processes have remained basically the same. As the Board is designed today, we have a problem of capacity, performance, and lack of representation of the movement’s diversity. Direct elections tend to favor candidates from the leading language communities, regardless of how relevant their skills and experience might be in serving as a Board member, or contributing to the ability of the Board to perform its specific responsibilities. It is also a fact that the current processes have favored volunteers from North America and Western Europe. As a matter of fact, there had only been one member who served on the Board, from South Asia, in more than fifteen years of history.

In the upcoming months, we need to renew three community seats and appoint three more community members in the new seats. This call for feedback is to see what processes can we all collaboratively design to promote and choose candidates that represent our movement and are prepared with the experience, skills, and insight to perform as trustees? In this regard, it would be good to have a community discussion to discuss the proposed ideas and share our thoughts, give feedback and contribute to the process. करम जी, जाँच की जब ज़रूरत होगी तब वह भी कर ली जाएगी। फ़िलहाल आपके दो-दो हस्ताक्षर (जो कि सर्वथा अनावश्यक है) दो अलग-अलग व्यक्तियों के होने का भ्रम पैदा कर रहे हैं। राजपूत पृष्ठ पहले से ही पुनरीक्षक स्तर पर सुरक्षित है। इस पर चाहे जितने भी संपादन हो जाएँ यदि उन्हें पुनरीक्षित नहीं किया गया तो वे स्वतः पूर्ववत हो जाएँगे। पुनरीक्षक स्तर पर सुरक्षित पृष्ठ पर आपका 24 घंटे के भीतर 6 रिवर्ट करना अनुचित है जिसे संपादन युद्ध की श्रेणी में रखा जा सकता है। यदि आपने संजीव जी के संपादनों पर रिवर्ट किया तो यह भी देखा होगा कि वे लेख को सुधारने का काम कर रहे थे। बिना संपादन का कोई प्रयास किए एक अर्द्ध-सुरक्षित पृष्ठ पर 24 घंटे में 6 रिवर्ट सकारात्मक योगदान में नहीं गिना जा सकता। इसे संपादन युद्ध में गिना जाएगा और इसके दोषी आप दोनों लोग (दूसरे वे जिनकी शिकायत आपने की है) माने जाएँगे। --अजीत कुमार तिवारी बातचीत 07:28, 15 मार्च 2021 (UTC)उत्तर दें

@Jonurani: ज़ी बहुत बड़ी दिक्कत थी इंस्टाग्राम लेख में आपने जो लिंक दिया था क्यूंकि वह स्पैम लिंक था और विकिपीडिया पर स्पैम लिंक डालना स्पैम मना जाता है क्यूंकि लेख में लिंक डालने से सर्च इंजन कों कोई फर्क नहीं पड़ता है और विकिपीडिया nofollow tag का अनुसरण करता है विकिपीडिया कोई लिंक का कोई घर नहीं है ज्यादा स्पैम लिंक डालने से संपादनो से अवरोध किया जा सकता है.CrazyBunty Craziyac0ntribs 14 08:25, 17 मार्च 2021 (UTC)उत्तर दें

Hello,

As you may already know, the 2021 Wikimedia Foundation Board of Trustees elections are from 4 August 2021 to 17 August 2021. Members of the Wikimedia community have the opportunity to elect four candidates to a three-year term. After a three-week-long Call for Candidates, there are 20 candidates for the 2021 election.

An event for community members to know and interact with the candidates is being organized. During the event, the candidates will briefly introduce themselves and then answer questions from community members. The event details are as follows:

  • Bangladesh: 4:30 pm to 7:00 pm
  • India & Sri Lanka: 4:00 pm to 6:30 pm
  • Nepal: 4:15 pm to 6:45 pm
  • Pakistan & Maldives: 3:30 pm to 6:00 pm
  • Live interpretation is being provided in Hindi.

WikiConference India 2023: Program submissions and Scholarships form are now open

We are really glad to inform you that WikiConference India 2023 has been successfully funded and it will take place from 3 to 5 March 2023. The theme of the conference will be Strengthening the Bonds.

We also have exciting updates about the Program and Scholarships.

The applications for scholarships and program submissions are already open! You can find the form for scholarship here and for program you can go here.

For more information and regular updates please visit the Conference Meta page. If you have something in mind you can write on talk page.

‘‘‘Note’’’: Scholarship form and the Program submissions will be open from 11 November 2022, 00:00 IST and the last date to submit is 27 November 2022, 23:59 IST.

WikiConference India 2023: Open Community Call and Extension of program and scholarship submissions deadline

Dear Wikimedian,

Thank you for supporting Wiki Conference India 2023. We are humbled by the number of applications we have received and hope to learn more about the work that you all have been doing to take the movement forward. In order to offer flexibility, we have recently extended our deadline for the Program and Scholarships submission- you can find all the details on our Meta Page.

COT is working hard to ensure we bring together a conference that is truly meaningful and impactful for our movement and one that brings us all together. With an intent to be inclusive and transparent in our process, we are committed to organizing community sessions at regular intervals for sharing updates and to offer an opportunity to the community for engagement and review. Following the same, we are hosting the first Open Community Call on the 3rd of December, 2022. We wish to use this space to discuss the progress and answer any questions, concerns or clarifications, about the conference and the Program/Scholarships.

Please add the following to your respective calendars and we look forward to seeing you on the call

Furthermore, we are pleased to share the email id of the conference contact@wikiconferenceindia.org which is where you could share any thoughts, inputs, suggestions, or questions and someone from the COT will reach out to you.
