संगलाख़ (سنگلاخ‎, Sanglakh) हिन्दु कुश पर्वत शृंखला की एक शाखा है। इस से अफ़्ग़ानिस्तान की दो महत्वपूर्ण नदियाँ - हेलमंद नदी और काबुल नदी - उत्पन्न होती हैं। संगलाख़ शृंखला के सब से प्रमुख दर्रे का नाम 'उनई दर्रा' या 'उनई कोतल' है।[1]

नाम का उच्चारण और अर्थ[संपादित करें]

हिन्दी के 'लाख' शब्द को पश्तो में बिंदु वाले 'ख़' की ध्वनि के साथ बोला जाता है, जो बिंदु-रहित 'ख' से ज़रा अलग है। इसका उच्चारण 'ख़राब' और 'ख़रीद' के 'ख़' से मिलता है। 'संगलाख़' एक संयुक्त शब्द है - संग का अर्थ फ़ारसी में "पत्थर" होता है, यानी 'संगलाख़' का मतलब है 'लाखों पत्थरों वाला' या 'पत्थरीला'।[2][3] ध्यान रहे के फ़ारसी का "संग" शब्द अवस्ताई भाषा के मूल "असन" शब्द से आया है।[4] क्योंकि संस्कृत ओर फ़ारसी दोनों हिन्द-ईरानी भाषा परिवार की बहने हैं इसलिए ठीक यही सजातीय शब्द संस्कृत में भी "अश्न" रूप में मिलता है ओर ऋग्वेद में प्रयोगित है। इसका अर्थ भी "पत्थर" है।[5]
