प्रजवल शास्त्री भारतीय खगोल विज्ञान संस्थान, बेंगलुरु में एक खगोल भौतिकीविद हैं। वह रेडियो से लेकर एक्स-रे तरंग दैर्घ्य तक के बहु-तरंगदैर्घ्य अवलोकनों का उपयोग करते हुए अतिसंवेदनशील ब्लैकहोल द्वारा संचालित सक्रिय आकाशगंगाओं के क्षेत्र में विशेषज्ञ हैं।[12] शास्त्री का जन्म मैंगलोर में हुआ था और उनकी स्कूली शिक्षा भी वाही हुए थी। उन्होंने अपनी बी.एससी. सेंट एग्नेस कॉलेज मैंगलोर से भौतिक विज्ञान में (मैसूर विश्वविद्यालय) से की। उन्होंने अपनी एम.एससी. भारतीय प्रौद्योगिकी संस्थान, मुंबई से भौतिकी में की और उन्होंने अपनी पीएचडी टाटा इंस्टिट्यूट ऑफ फंडामेंटल रिसर्च से पूरी करी।[13]
