जय श्री राम भारतीय भाषाओं में एक अभिव्यक्ति है, जिसका अनुवाद "भगवान राम की महिमा" या "भगवान राम की जीत" के रूप में किया जाता है।[1] उद्घोषणा का उपयोग हिंदुओं द्वारा अनौपचारिक अभिवादन के रूप में,[2] हिंदू आस्था के पालन के प्रतीक के रूप में,[3] या विभिन्न आस्था-केंद्रित भावनाओं के प्रक्षेपण के लिए किया गया है।[4][5][6]

अभिव्यक्ति का प्रयोग भारतीय हिंदू राष्ट्रवादी संगठनों विश्व हिंदू परिषद (वीएचपी), भारतीय जनता पार्टी (बीजेपी) और उनके सहयोगियों द्वारा किया गया था।[21]

फोटो पत्रकार प्रशांत पंजिआर ने लिखा था कि अयोध्या शहर में, महिला तीर्थयात्री हमेशा " सीता-राम-सीता-राम" मंत्र का जाप करती थी, जबकि वृद्ध पुरुष तीर्थयात्री राम नाम का उपयोग नहीं पसंद करते थे। एक नारे में "जय" का पारंपरिक उपयोग "सियावर रामचंद्रजी की जय" ("सीता के पति राम की जयकार") के साथ था।[22] राम का आह्वान करने वाला एक लोकप्रिय अभिवादन "जय राम जी की" और "राम-राम" है।[1][22]

"राम" के नाम के अभिवादन पारंपरिक रूप से सभी धर्म के लोगों द्वारा उपयोग किया जाता रहा है।[23]

राम प्रतीकवाद[संपादित करें]

१२वीं शताब्दी में मुस्लिम तुर्कों के आक्रमण के पश्चात राम की पूजा में उल्लेखनीय वृद्धि हुई। [20] १६वीं शताब्दी में रामायण व्यापक रूप से लोकप्रिय हुई। यह तर्क दिया जाता है कि राम की कहानी "दैवीय राजा का एक अत्यधिक शक्तिशाली कल्पनाशील सूत्रीकरण प्रदान करती है, एवं केवल यही अमंगल का विनाश करने में सक्षम है"।[24] रामराज्य की अवधारणा, "राम का शासन", गांधी द्वारा अंग्रेजों से मुक्त आदर्श देश का वर्णन करने के लिए उपयोग किया गया था। [20][25]

राम का सबसे व्यापक रूप से ज्ञात राजनीतिक उपयोग 1920 के दशक में अवध में बाबा राम चंद्र के किसान आंदोलन के साथ आरम्भ हुआ। उन्होंने अभिवादन के रूप में व्यापक रूप से प्रयोग किए जाने वाले "सलाम" के विरोध में "सीता-राम" के उपयोग को प्रोत्साहित किया, क्योंकि बाद में सामाजिक हीनता निहित थी। "सीता-राम" शीघ्र ही एक नारा बन गया।[26]

पत्रकार मृणाल पांडे के अनुसार :[20] "राम कथा के गायन के लिए लगाए नारों जिनको मैं सुनकर बड़ी हुई, वो एक व्यक्ति के रूप में राम के बारे में कभी नहीं थे, और ना हीं एक योद्धा के बारे में थी। वे नारे राम-सीता की जोड़ी के बारे में थे: "बोल सियावर या सियापति रामचंद्र की जय"।

1980 के दशक के उत्तरार्ध में, "जय श्री राम" का नारा रामानंद सागर की टेलीविजन श्रृंखला रामायण द्वारा लोकप्रिय किया गया था, जहाँ हनुमान और वानर सेना द्वारा सीता को मुक्त करने के लिए रावण की राक्षस सेना से लड़ते हुए युद्ध के रूप में इसका इस्तेमाल किया गया था।[27]

हिन्दू राष्ट्रवादी संगठन विश्व हिंदू परिषद , भारतीय जनता पार्टी सहित और उसके संघ परिवार के सहयोगियों ने अपने अयोध्या राम जन्मभूमि आंदोलन में इसका प्रयोग किया।[27][28] उस समय अयोध्या में स्वयंसेवक अपनी भक्ति को दर्शाने के लिए स्याही के रूप में अपने रक्त का उपयोग करते हुए, अपनी त्वचा पर नारा लिखते थे। संगठनों ने जय श्री राम नामक एक कैसेट भी वितरित किया, जिसमें राम जी की सेना चली और आया समय जवानों जागो। इस कैसेट के सभी गाने लोकप्रिय बॉलीवुड गानों की धुन पर सेट थे। [29] अगस्त 1992 में संघ परिवार के सहयोगियों के नेतृत्व में कारसेवकों ने बाबरी मस्जिद के पूर्व में मंदिर का शिलान्यास किया।[30]

1995 में अकादमिक मधु किश्वर द्वारा संपादित पत्रिका मानुषी में प्रकाशित एक निबंध में बताया गया है कि संघ परिवार द्वारा "सीता-राम" के विपरीत "जय श्री राम" का उपयोग इस तथ्य में निहित है कि उनके हिंसक विचारों के लिए।" [20] इसने अधिक लोगों को राजनीतिक रूप से भी लामबंद किया, क्योंकि यह पितृसत्तात्मक था। इसके अलावा, राम जन्मभूमी आन्दोलन विशेष रूप से राम के जन्म से जुड़ा था, जो सीता से उनके विवाह के कई साल पहले हुआ था।[31]

राम का हिंदू राष्ट्रवादी चित्रण पारंपरिक "कोमल, लगभग पवित्र" राम के विपरीत योद्धा जैसा है, जो लोकप्रिय धारणा में रहा है। [32] समाजशास्त्री जान ब्रेमन लिखते हैं:[33] "यह एक 'ब्लट एंड बोडेन' (रक्त एवं मृदा) आंदोलन है जिसका उद्देश्य विदेशी तत्वों से भारत (मातृभूमि) को शुद्ध करना है। राष्ट्र को जो हानी हुई है, वह अधिकतर उस सौम्यता और भोग का परिणाम है जो लोगों ने दमनकारी विदेशियों के सामने दिखाया । हिंदू धर्म में कोमलता और स्त्रीत्व की प्रमुखता , एक ऐसा परिवर्तन है जो कि शत्रु के चालाक षड्यंत्र द्वारा गढ़ा गया था। अब मूल, मर्दाना, शक्तिशाली हिंदू लोकाचार के लिए जगह बनाना चाहिए। यह हिंदुत्व के पैरोकार द्वारा शुरू किए गए राष्ट्रीय पुनरुद्धार की अपील के युद्ध के समान, अत्यधिक आक्रामक चरित्र को वर्णित करता है। यहां एक रोचक बात यह है कि अभिवादन 'जय सिया राम' को 'जय श्री राम' के युद्ध घोष में परिवर्तित कर दिया गया है। हिंदू परमात्मा ने मर्दाना जनरल का रूप धारण कर लिया है। 'सिया राम' अनादि काल से ग्रामीण इलाकों में स्वागत का एक लोकप्रिय अभिवादन था अभी भी जय श्री राम या जय सियाराम के अभिवादन व नारे लगते हैं, यहाँ राम से पहले श्री लगाकर माता सीता को यानी स्त्री जाति को सम्मान दिया है, क्योंकि श्री का मतलब माता लक्ष्मी स्वरुपा सीता होती हैं ,वैसे ही श्री कृष्णा नाम में श्री का अर्थ माता राधा हैं।

हिंसक घटनाएं[संपादित करें]

1992 में दंगों और बाबरी मस्जिद के विध्वंस के समय भी यही नारा लगाया गया था। [34] [35] बीबीसी के पूर्व ब्यूरो चीफ मार्क टुली, जो 6 दिसंबर को मस्जिद स्थल पर उपस्थित थे, याद करते हैं की हिंदू भीड़, मस्जिद की ओर भागते हुए "जय श्री राम!" के नारे लगा रही थी।[36] जून 1998 में राजकोट के एक ईसाई स्कूल के छात्रों से न्यू टेस्टामेंट की 300 प्रतियां ली गईं और जय श्री राम के नारे के बीच जला दी गईं। जनवरी 1999 में, यह नारा फिर से सुना गया जब उड़ीसा के मनोहरपुर में ऑस्ट्रेलियाई मिशनरी डॉक्टर ग्राहम स्टेन्स को उनके दो बच्चों के साथ जिंदा जला दिया गया था।[13]

फरवरी 2002 में गोधरा ट्रेन में आग लगने की घटनाओं से पहले गुजरात विहिप और बजरंग दल जैसे उसके संबद्ध संगठनों के समर्थक, जो की अयोध्या की यात्रा पर जा रहे थे, ने रास्ते में मुसलमानों को "जय श्री राम" का जाप करने के लिए मजबूर किया, और अपनी वापसी की यात्रा पर, उन्होंने गोधरा सहित "हर दूसरे स्टेशन" पर भी ऐसा ही किया। राम जन्मभूमि पर समारोह में शामिल होने के लिए दोनों यात्राएं साबरमती एक्सप्रेस में की गईं।[37] [38] 2002 के गुजरात दंगों के दौरान, विहिप द्वारा वितरित एक पत्रक में नारे का इस्तेमाल किया गया था इस पत्रक में हिंदुओं को मुस्लिम व्यवसायों का बहिष्कार करने के लिए प्रोत्साहित किया गया था।[39] अहमदाबाद से पूर्व सांसद एहसान जाफरी पर हमला करने और उनकी हत्या करने वाली भीड़ द्वारा "जय श्री राम" का नारा लगाया गया था। उनकी बेरहमी से हत्या करने से पहले उन्हें यह नारा लगाने के लिए भी मजबूर किया गया था।[40] नरोदा पाटिया हत्याकांड के दौरान भी हिंसक भीड़ में यह नारा सुना गया था।[41] मिश्रित-धर्म के पड़ोस में रहने वाले लोगों को दंगाइयों को भगाने के लिए जय श्री राम के पोस्टर लगाने और आर्मबैंड पहनने के लिए मजबूर किया गया था।[42]

2019 की झारखंड मॉब लिंचिंग में मारे गए व्यक्ति को भीड़ ने "जय श्री राम" और "जय हनुमान" के नारे लगाने के लिए मजबूर किया।[43] माकपा की महिला शाखा ऑल इंडिया डेमोक्रेटिक वीमेन्स एसोसिएशन ने आरोप लगाया कि गार्गी कॉलेज में छेड़छाड़ के अपराधी भी यह नारे लगा रहे थे।[44]

2020 के दिल्ली दंगों के दौरान, दंगाइयों ने "जय श्री राम" का जाप करते हुए पीड़ितों की पिटाई की थी।[45][46] पुलिस को भी हिंदू भीड़ के साथ मंत्रोच्चार में शामिल होते हुए पाया गया। मुसलमानों को बताया गया की "हिंदुस्तान में रहना होगा, जय श्री राम कहना होगा " (यदि आप भारत में रहना चाहते हैं, तो आपको जय श्री राम का जाप करना होगा")। टाइम में लिखते हुए भारतीय पत्रकार राणा अय्यूब ने टिप्पणी की कि यह नारा दंगों के दौरान मुसलमानों के खिलाफ "नस्लवादी डॉग व्हिसल" बन गया था।[47]

नारे के साथ हिंसक घटनाओं के जुड़े होने की कुछ खबरें आई हैं, जिनमें बाद में आरोप झूठे निकले।[48][49][50][51][52] जून 2019 में, प्रमुख भारतीय नागरिकों के एक समूह ने प्रधान मंत्री नरेंद्र मोदी को एक पत्र लिखा, जिसमें उनसे युद्ध घोष के रूप में "राम के नाम को अपवित्र करने" से रोकने का अनुरोध किया गया था। उन्होंने मांग की कि हिंसक उद्देश्यों के लिए नारे का इस्तेमाल करने के खिलाफ सख्त कार्रवाई की जाए।[53]

जून 2019 में, इस नारे का इस्तेमाल मुस्लिम सांसदों को परेशान करने के लिए किया गया था जब वे 17 वीं लोकसभा में शपथ लेने के लिए आगे बढ़े थे।[54] उस वर्ष जुलाई में, नोबेल पुरस्कार विजेता अमर्त्य सेन ने एक भाषण में कहा था कि नारा "बंगाली संस्कृति से जुड़ा नहीं था",[55] जिसके कारण कुछ अज्ञात समूहों ने कोलकाता में होर्डिंग पर उनका बयान प्रकाशित किया।[56] इस नारे का इस्तेमाल पश्चिम बंगाल की मुख्यमंत्री ममता बनर्जी को कई मौकों पर परेशान करने के लिए भी किया गया है, जिससे उनकी नाराज़ प्रतिक्रियाएँ आयीं।[56][57]

अन्य उपयोग[संपादित करें]

वर्ष 1994 की फ़िल्म हम आपके हैं कौन! में घर के मंदिर[a] की दीवारों पर यह नारा चित्रित किया गया है।[58] वर्ष 2015 की फ़िल्म बजरंगी भाईजान में अभिवादन के रूप में इसी वाक्य को काम में लिया गया था।[59] वर्ष 2017 की एक भोजपुरी फिल्म, पाकिस्तान में जय श्री राम में नायक को राम के भक्त के रूप में दर्शाया है जो पाकिस्तान में प्रवेश करता है यह नारा लगाते हुए आतंकवादियों को मारता है।[31] हैलो नहीं, बोलो जय श्री राम के स्टिकर छोटे व्यवसाय चलाने वाले लोगों के वाहनों और टेलीफोन पर लोकप्रिय हो गए हैं।[29] 2018 का एक गीत, "हिंदू ब्लड हिट", जय श्री राम नारे के दोहराव को दर्शाता है और भारतीय मुसलमानों को चेतावनी देता है कि उनका समय समाप्त हो गया है। 2017 का एक और गीत, "जय श्री राम डीजे विक्की मिक्स", भविष्य में एक ऐसे समय की उम्मीद करता है जिसमें "एक कश्मीर अस्तित्व में रहेगा लेकिन कोई पाकिस्तान नहीं"।[3]

अगस्त 2020 में राम मंदिर, अयोध्या के शिलान्यास समारोह के बाद, नारे को उत्सव में एक मंत्र के रूप में इस्तेमाल किया गया था।[60] अयोध्या विवाद पर 2019 के सुप्रीम कोर्ट के निर्णय के पश्चात वकीलों द्वारा इस नारे का इस्तेमाल किया गया था।[61]
