अहमदगढ़ (Ahmedgarh) भारत के पंजाब राज्य के संगरूर ज़िले में स्थित एक नगर है।[1][2][3][4]

इतिहास[संपादित करें]

1905 में, मलेरकोटला नवाब अहमद अली खान और धुरकोट धालीवाल परिवार के बीच आदान-प्रदान के दौरान, नवाब को शहर का पहला रेलवे स्टेशन स्थापित करने के लिए जमीन का एक छोटा टुकड़ा दिया गया था। इसलिए, नवाब अहमद अली खान के सम्मान में शहर का नाम बदलकर अहमदगढ़ कर दिया गया।[5]

भूगोल[संपादित करें]

यह शहर संगरूर-लुधियाना रोड पर मलेरकोटला से लगभग 18 किमी उत्तर में स्थित है। यह संगरूर से 50 किमी, लुधियाना से 26 किमी और चंडीगढ़ से 98 किमी दूर है।

यातायात[संपादित करें]

इसका लुधियाना-जाखल रेलवे लाइन पर एक रेलवे स्टेशन है।[6]
