तुमेन (मंगोल: Түмэн, अंग्रेज़ी: Tümen) तुर्कियों और मंगोलों की संख्या प्रणाली में 'दस-हज़ार' (१०,०००) के लिए प्रयोग होने वाली संख्या थी। फ़ौजी दृष्टिकोण से दस-हज़ार सैनिकों के दस्तों को तुमेन बुलाया जाता था। मंगोल सोच थी कि एक तुमेन का दस्ता किसी झड़प को तेज़ी से जीतने के लिए पर्याप्त था लेकिन इतना भी बड़ा नहीं था कि इसे जल्दी से दिशा बदलने में या खाना-पानी पहुँचाने में मुश्किल हो। आधुनिक मंगोल भाषा में 'तुमेन' शब्द को 'बहुत ज़्यादा' या 'असीमित' के अर्थ के साथ भी इस्तेमाल किया जाता है। मान्छु लोग और हूण लोग भी इसी तुमेन सैनिक संगठन प्रणाली का प्रयोग करते थे।[1][2]
