सन् २००७ में फैज़ाबाद, बदख़्शान के शहर में कोकचा नदी पर पुल के लिए नीव डालने का काम जारी है

कोकचा नदी (फ़ारसी और पश्तो: کوکچا‎, अंग्रेज़ी: Kokcha) उत्तरी अफ़ग़ानिस्तान की एक नदी है। यह आमू दरिया की एक उपनदी है और बदख़्शान प्रान्त में हिन्दू कुश पहाड़ों में बहती है। बदख़्शान प्रान्त की राजधानी फैज़ाबाद इसी नदी के किनारे बसी हुई है। कोकचा नदी की घाटी में सर-ए-संग खान स्थित है जहाँ से हज़ारों सालों से लाजवर्द (लैपिस लैज़्यूली) निकाला जा रहा है।[1] २००० ईसापूर्व में अपने चरम पर सिन्धु घाटी सभ्यता ने भी यहाँ के शोरतुगई इलाक़े के पास एक व्यापारिक बस्ती बनाई थी जिसके ज़रिये लाजवर्द भारतीय उपमहाद्वीप के अलावा प्राचीन मिस्र और मेसोपोटामिया की सभ्यताओं तक भी पहुँचाया जाता था।[2][3]
