Hi Mitul, thanks again for your contributions. If you so wish, you may helpp me with making stubs for each country in the world. The names are well arranged: Just go to these articles and see the Tamplate boxes, they list the countries in each continnent: एशिया, यूरोप, उत्तरी अमरीका, दक्षिणी अमरीका और अफ़्रीका । This will alos greatly help in increasing the no. of articles. Thanks for the suggestion, I definitely want to keep contributing to hindi wikipedia. Articles about the countries are one of the badly needed ones. I would work on them whenever I get time. Currently, I am trying to finish articles on the persons received Bharat Ratna. Personally, I would still keep that as a priority over former. Would like to assist as sysop of the wikipedia too. The recommendation is still in the same format as suggested before. I (and GoI) suggest the continuation of the international format of numerals. गद्य पद्य और मुख्यपृष्ठ

मितुल गद्य prose है और पद्य poetry है। साहित्य की ये दो मुख्य धाराएं होती है। इसके सिवा जिसमें गद्य और पद्य दोनों होते हैं उसे चम्पू कहते हैं पर वह हिंदी में शायद ही कहीं है। सिर्फ संस्कृत में है। हिंदी कहानी और नाटक का इतिहास भी लिखा जा सकता है पर वह कुछ दिन बाद क्यों कि यह सब बहुत लंबा लंबा हो जाता है।

एक सुझाव है। हिंदी विकीपीडिया में 'मुख्यपृष्ठ' लिखा है जो ग़लत है। सही शब्द 'मुखपृष्ठ' होता है जैसा कि संस्कृत और मराठी विकिपीडिया में है और अभिव्यक्ति/अनुभूति में भी। इसे हो सके तो जल्दी से जल्दी ठीक करवा दें।

We need more organization!

At least for Indian articles, we must closely follow the outlines and nice templates used in the English Wikipedia. As a start, I have made [Template:Infobox_Indian_Jurisdiction], which you have already taken note of. We must "port" the other templates, wherever possible.

Another thing is, some CSS files present in the English Wikipedia seem to be blank here. That is why the "infobox" class wasn't defined, and I had to include it into the HTML.

Since I don't know how to publicize this matter, I am telling you. Please advise contributors.

मितुल, हिंदी साहित्य में जानकारी दी गई है कि देवकीनंदन खत्री द्वारा लिखे गये उपन्यास चन्द्रकांता को हिंदी की पहली प्रामाणिक गद्य रचना मानते हैं| परंतु खत्री जी ने चन्द्रकांता उपन्यास सन् 1888 में लिखना आरंभ किया था जबकि उनसे बहुत पहले ही सन् 1803 में सदल मिश्रा जी ने 'नासिकेतोपाख्यान' तथा इंशाअल्लाह ख़ान ने 'रानी केतकी की कहानी' लिखी थी| कुछ विद्वान नासिकेतोपाख्यान को हिंदी की प्रथम गद्य रचना मानते हैं तो कुछ रानी केतकी की कहानी को| सन् 1803 में ही लल्लूलाल जी ने 'प्रेम सागर' की रचना की थी और इसी वर्ष में सिंहासन बत्तीसी भी लिखी गई थी|

एक जानकारी और, देवकीनंदन खत्री जी का उपन्यास चन्द्रकांता इतनी लोकप्रिय हुई थी कि उसे पढ़ने के लिये हिंदी का ज्ञान न रखने वाले लोगों ने हिंदी सीखा था|

इस जानकारी का उपयोग करके आप आवश्यक सुधार कर सकते हैं|

Matra, google group will be used between active contributors. This will make it easy to ask for help, discuss suggestions, promoting your ideas and other things. I could not find other similar group. If you happen to find, let me know. I too prefer discussions on wikipedia itself, but many people specifically people new to wikipedia, are not very comfortable with it. So, an additional avenue will certainly help.

A doubt

Hi Mitul I works in Malayalam Wikipedia. I come here for clearing a doubt. In ml:Wiki recently, there is a debate on Hindi. I want to know that, Whether Hindi enjoys the state of "राष्ट्रभाषा" in India? If not how it differ from other official languages? I think Hindi people can help. Perhaps I can help you in this matter. Unfortunately Hindi is not Rashtrabhasha (राष्ट्रभाषा), it is Rajbhasha. To know about official lagnuage rules in India please visit http://rajbhasha.nic.in/dolruleseng.htm

Hndi is special in a way that it is primary official language of Indian Union, it's the 'raajabhaaShaa' of India. English is used as secondary official language. Altogether there are 23 official languages of India.

Normally, the primary offical language is also the national language. But it is not clear to me that Indian constitution has mentioned anything about National language (or Rashtra-Bhasha').

I regret to inform you that Indian Constitution has mentioned nohing about National Language (राष्ट्रभाषा). We are so unfortunate that we do not have any National Language (राष्ट्रभाषा). Isn't it?

I felt the same way. Reality that we do not have National Language hurts. Given the diversity of India, it is not a easy task to define one Language as National Language. Personally, I prefer the strength of integration at the expense of not having a National Language anytime.

Namespace in Devnagari

Dear Mitul, I request your help, I want to change namespaces in Marathi Language Wiktionary from present 'Wiktionary' to 'विक्शनरी' like wise I want to change name space for 'Help' pages. So far there is no template or process to nominate for "Kyaa aap jaante hai?" section. Feel free to send me the links I will try to update those sections, till we formalize a process for the same. Thanks for the new articles, I will try to work on that too.

I created that template when I was creating the main page. That is now protected, so one of the administrators will need to add the new notes on. As you see, the मुख्य पृष्ठ क्या आप जानते है template consists of the Template:क्या आप जानते है दिसंबर 2006-जनवरी 2007 template. So new "notes" will needed to be added here. Also, I have noticed that some sentences end like this: सेंटेंस एंड। with the । (full-stop) next to the last letter, but some like this: सेंटेंस एंड ।. Instead of asking you every single week, please would you change the Template:मुख्य पृष्ठ ताज़ी घटनाएँ so it says {{Template:ताज़ी घटनाएँ {{CURRENTYEAR}} सप्ताह {{CURRENTWEEK}}}}? We would then have to move Template:ताज़ी घटनाएँ 2007 सप्ताह 2 to Template:ताज़ी घटनाएँ २००७ सप्ताह २. Also, would you like us to use 1,2,3 Roman numerals or १,२,३ Devanagari numerals. Because if you want Devanagari numerals you can keep the {{CURRENTYEAR}} etc. templates with the Devanagari numerals and maybe even set up a bot which changes 1 to १, 2 to २. But if you would like to keep Roman numerals, would you please try and change the {{CURRENTYEAR}}, {{CURRENTMONTH}}, {{CURRENTMONTHNAME}}, {{CURRENTDAY}} and {{CURRENTDAYNAME}} so they use Roman numerals instead of Devanagari numerals? --Wolf ०७:४७, २० जनवरी २००७ (UTC)

I am able to create a large amount of stubs and articles in short amounts of time, but I need constant help from more advanced and native hindi speakers as would many people interestedin contributing here. Instead of having a separate page with मुखपृष्ठ, मुख्य पृष्ठ should be moved/redirected to मुखपृष्ठ, and if moved, the contents should be updated. If you currently go to wwww.wikipedia.com or wwww.wikipedia.org, and click on हिन्दी, you get automatically redirected to मुख्य पृष्ठ. Also, it is important to see the real history archive; please see http://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Help:Moving_a_page. It is therefore I believe that the above suggestion should be implemented.

I have added Bishnupriya Manipuri language, as it is an Indian language and it has a Wikipedia with more than 10,000 articles. Just another thing, I have implemented a निर्वाचित लेख system! Please have a look at that! You may be able to help with translation. There is also a list of candidates for Featured articles! Now we can continue properly! I agree about moving the main page. Initially I left it there, just in case if we need to revert the name back to मुख्य पृष्ठ. Now, I guess we don't need to do so. I will redirect मुख्य पृष्ठ to मुखपृष्ठ. Just a fast way, though it will not keep the history. Will have link of मुख्य पृष्ठ at talk page of मुखपृष्ठ.

I have unlocked Template:मुख्य पृष्ठ विकिपीडिया अन्य भाषाओं में for sometime. Please update it. I will also work to update it.

Got to work on system of featured article. Lack of time from my side. Will spend more time on this also. I see myself spending more time from mid of next week onwards.

Let me explain a bit. I have started a Featured Article system here: विकिपीडिया:निर्वाचित लेख. These are the pages linked from विकिपीडिया:निर्वाचित लेख: विकिपीडिया:निर्वाचित लेख आवश्यकताएं (requirements) and विकिपीडिया:निर्वाचित लेख उम्मीदवारों (candidates). The current candidates are: रामायण and भारत. There is a short description of what is still needed to make them featured articles is here: विकिपीडिया:निर्वाचित लेख उम्मीदवारों. GK Awadhiya has already started work to make रामायण into a featured article. In the end a featured article should have everything that is listed here: विकिपीडिया:निर्वाचित लेख आवश्यकताएं!

The प्रवेशद्वार thing was just kind of a thought. I meant instead of having something like Portal:हिंदी translate the name to प्रवेशद्वार:हिंदी. But I am no good at Hindi, so this is entirely up to you :-) --- I have updated Template:मुख्य पृष्ठ विकिपीडिया अन्य भाषाओं में. Thank you for redirecting मुख्य पृष्ठ to मुखपृष्ठ.

One more thing, Kingram has made 2 आप क्या जानते है suggestions here: Template talk:क्या आप जानते है दिसंबर 2006-जनवरी 2007. If possible these should be updated to the Template:क्या आप जानते है दिसंबर 2006-जनवरी 2007 template. Just one more suggestion. From next month, on the Template:मुख्य पृष्ठ निर्वाचित तस्वीर template, instead of it having the Template:निर्वाचित तस्वीर दिसंबर 2006-जनवरी 2007 as it has now, it would be useful to change it to Template:निर्वाचित तस्वीर अप्रैल (which is in Wiki-code: [[Template:निर्वाचित तस्वीर {{CURRENTMONTHNAME}}]].) मितुल जी, मुझे लगता है कि कई हिन्दी प्रेमी अभी भी हिन्दी विकिपीडिया से दूर रह रहे हैं क्योंकि मुखपृष्ठ पर एक बडी गलती है। वह है, विकिपीडिया को आज़ाद कहना। यह शब्द यहां इसलिये गलत है कि आज़ाद का अर्थ राजनैतिक context में होता है। आज़ाद की व्युत्पत्ति हैः आ + जात अर्थात जो एक ही जात के हों, अर्थात जो स्वतन्त्र हों। विकिपीडिया में इस शब्द के बजाय मुक्त का प्रयोग ही ठीक है।जूहोमि ००:११, १८ जनवरी २००७ (UTC)

Can you add the noms to the template from Template talk:क्या आप जानते है दिसंबर 2006-जनवरी 2007? I'll bring the code for the boxes from en:wiki. The creator of a KAJ (DYK in english) article gets a box for their userspace as does the nominator I think. We should implement a system like en:WP:DYK. I've brought the rules and stuff to विकिपीडिया:क्या आप जानते है राजा राम^{बात करो} ०१:०१, २० जनवरी २००७ (UTC)

A few things

Can you please lock Template:मुख्य पृष्ठ विकिपीडिया अन्य भाषाओं में again. Do you think that English or Hindi numerals should be used on Hindi Wikipedia? If Hindi, please change the front page. Also, on the front page sometimes this is being used space then fullstop ।, and sometimes this is being used just fullstop।. Please change the front page according to your suggestions. Please see this Template talk:क्या आप जानते है. Another thing; did you know that रामायण is a निर्वाचित लेख उम्मीदवार? If you are able to, please help the Hindi Wikipedia community make this the first FA on the Hindi Wikipedia. Then, we can also update the front page. The main problem is that we need more footnotes and references (टीका) on the Ramayan article. Please see the English Ramayan article and have a look what is done there. Regarding English or Hindi numerals, there is no clear mandate. For dates I prefer using English numerals though. But, automatically generated timestamps have been set to use hindi numerals. For full stop,just fullstop। should be used. I am following development on रामायण, you and others have done wonderful job so far. I guess soon it would be FA.

मराठी विकिपीडिया पर एक टेम्प्लेट है, और वह टेम्प्लेट रोमन numerals देवनागरी numerals कर देता है। वह टेम्प्लेट पर यह कॉन्टेंट है। If you want to convert the numbers on a page (I think), you add

I am still not sure, and there is no policy set for the use of numerals. Give me sometime to think over it. Once decided, we can use template above or change it to show romal numerals.

प्रिय मितुल, I have made a Monobook.css style for the Hindi Wikipedia, with inspiration from both the German and French Wikipedias. If you would like to test it, on this page: User:Mitul/monobook.css copy the script from User:Wolf/monobook.css, and then, on Internet Explorer press (on the keyboard) Ctrl and f5. But, I made the text a bit smaller so it would look nicer. That means that on the following templates: Template:मुख्य पृष्ठ निर्वाचित लेख, Template:क्या आप जानते है, Template:ताज़ी घटनाएँ २००७ सप्ताह ४ and Template:निर्वाचित तस्वीर जनवरी२००७, Template:मुख्य पृष्ठ विकिपीडिया अन्य भाषाओं में and Template:मुख्य पृष्ठ अवश्यक लेख सूची this line: <div style="font-size:83%;border:none;margin: 0;padding:.1em;color:#000"> or this line: <div style="font-size:85%;border:none;margin: 0;padding:.1em;color:#"> has to be changed to this: <div style="font-size:84%;border:none;margin: 0;padding:.1em;color:#">, so the text on the front page will be legible. In the end, if you like the style, please copy the text from User:Wolf/monobook.css to MediaWiki:monobook.css. Please consider my suggestion, and give your thoughts. १ मेरी प्रार्थना है कि वर्तनी की पालिसी पर आप पुनर्विचार करें। मुझे लगता है कि पतञ्जलि जैसे नाम शुद्ध रूप में ही लिखे जाने चाहें नाकि पतंजलि के रूप में जो अशुद्ध है।

२ मै अभी फादर कामिल बुल्के का अंग्रेज़ी-हिन्दी शब्दकोश देख रहा हूं, और वहां difference के लिये भेद पहला शब्द है, दूसरा प्रचलित फरक (नाकि फर्क, जो कोई नहीं बोलता है)। मेरी प्रार्थना है कि article log में फर्क के बदले भेद का प्रयोग हो। Indonesian Wikipedia में बी भेद ही शब्द है। किशोर ०१:३६, २९ जनवरी २००७ (UTC)

मेरा सुझाव है कि भेद की जगह अंतर का प्रयोग किया जाए। दोनों का मतलब तो एक ही है लेकिन भेद थोड़ा ज़्यादा क्लिष्ट हिन्दी है। (वैसे मेरे विचार में फर्क भी ठीक ही था। यह उर्दू का शब्द है इसलिए शायद शब्दकोश में नहीं है।) -- दाढ़ीकेश ०१:४१, ३० जनवरी २००७ (UTC)
