Hi Mayur! I am tagging and not removing the images in the hope that some of the uploaders may come back and put the license information on finding the notice. I am trying to maintain a policy of one-month notice period in this regard. In this way, we can get images on Hindi wiki while maintaining license requirements. Yes, I think the auto-arrangement would be nice if you are able to do that. I am myself keen on writing such auto-codes and wanted to learn from you from where to do that. Hindi translations of English titles

I'm fine with your suggested approach. I have mixed feelings on this and just to give you a window into what I was thinking -

• Motivation to keep English names - Well, there's nothing like the flavor of the original, no question about it. Sometimes the Hindi translation seems downright contrived because it cannot have the cultural context which the original English would carry. I definitely felt this way about हारा हाची बू, एलेफ़्थ़ेरिआ इ थ़ानातोस and कीप काम ऐण्ड कैरी ऑन.
• Motivation to translate into Hindi - Sometimes I visualize this fictitious 12-14 year old girl/boy, the daughter/son of a servant in someone's house in any large metro in India. I imagine her English being very shaky. And I imagine her somehow having access to the web and reading articles on Hindi Wikipedia. This vision actually really clarifies things for me because it drives me to make articles that are actually readable by her. And it makes me want to equip her with a world-awareness that actually exceeds that of the employer. When I think of her, I tend to translate slogans and taglines into Hindi.

Ah yes, I was on the fence with this. I finally followed the convention of two people sharing a secret and saying "अन्दर की बात है". The problem with "अन्दर की बात" is that it means "inside information" (i.e. a secret, possibly some serious topic with sensitive information) as opposed to "an inside joke," e.g. in the great Mohan Rakesh's अंधेरे बंद कमरे - "हाँ, हाँ, तुम अच्छी तरह सोचकर बताना,' वह बोला। 'एक अन्दर की बात और तुम्हे बता रहा हूँ जिसे तुम्हें आउट नहीं करना चाहिए। मुझसे यह भी कहा गया कि तुम्हे अगला इन्क्रीमेंट देने से पहले तुम्हारे काम को कुछ दिन और अच्छी तरह देख लिया जाये। तुम्हे इस बात को ध्यान में रखकर ही चलना चाहिए।" Maybe there is another term for it and it just isn't striking us right now. How about "आपस का मज़ाक़"? I think that is used in the sense of an in-joke. From छाया मेखल; बीनू भगत: अज्ञेय के दो असमाप्त उपन्यास: सड़क पार करते समय कोई मोटर ज़्यादा पास से निकल जाती तो उन का आपस का मज़ाक़ था : 'अरे भई, गाड़ी के नीचे आ कर ही जान देनी है तो गाड़ी तो अच्छी-सी पसन्द कर लो!' Non-licensed files

If someone is sharing material that cannot be substantiated as possessing the license they claim *and* there is suspicion that it may violate copyright, then it should definitely be tagged and deleted. If it looks like they can fix the issue, maybe they should be guided towards what's needed to correct the license information they are submitting. If this is getting to painful levels, one possibility may be to require submission to Wikimedia Commons for all files and just piggyback off of their procedures.

On sourcing from your own stuff, I think that's okay as long as your sourced stuff is itself from a reputable journal/book/newspaper/etc and is not self-promoting. Basically, where someone else (publisher/university/newspaper) would have been engaged in ensuring quality and validity. Anything that causes concern: circular use (book looks like it's ripped off from Wikipedia material), content purely on a website, an opinion piece, self-published book, etc) should be contested. Hello, you recently requested the deletion/speedy deletion of the article विद्या_दान with the reasoning article is making frivolous claims, unintelligible. Today, I denied that deletion request with a major copy-editing of the article removing all frivolous and potentially contentious issues. However, the article creator has since reverted me (removing the deletion tag) with the reasoning that there are no frivolous claims in the article. Since the article had undergone some changes since you tagged it for deletion, would you please explain at the article's talk page specifically which claims you consider frivolous, and if those are present in the current article. Maintainance Tagging

Hello, I see that you do quite an amount of maintainance tagging. There's two things I'd like to recommend:

1. Use hindi month names. The month names used in the interface, and by the magic word CURRENTMONTHNAME have been changed into their hindi counterparts. Since these are used by mediawiki, they're pretty much standard. So its easier if the tags are with hindi month names (this helps keep single dated maintainance categories)
2. I'd like to recommend the gadget Twinkle to you. Although its a work in progress, its maintainance tagging module has been fixed up, and works fine. You'll probably find it much easier to tag articles using Twinkle. Using twinkle will also ensure the usage of correct month names and hence correct categorization(it can be bothersome to use the exact spelling manually, e.g अक्टूबर is right, while अक्तूबर isn't).

Hello. You changed the spelling of विकिफ़ाइ to विकिफ़ाई in Template:अनेक समस्याएँ. I don't know which of the two is correct, but we should maintain internal consistency, and the former spelling is in use at {{विकिफ़ाइ}} and वि:शब्दावली atleast (if not elsewhere too). So, either those (and all other instances) should be changed to ई too, or {{अनेक समस्याएँ}} should be reverted to इ. You may proceed either way. Hello, with regard to your comment, I see that now you're an autopatoller and reviewer, so I don't understand what buttons you're going to avoid using (you basically have none). But, I see that you were an eliminator. I wish you had contributed to the discussion, but as you see only editprotected users were moved to sysop group, and very few users with advanced permissions were not in that group (3?). Hello Nemo, Yes you're right that I don't have many "buttons" as such but as a reviewer, I suppose there are some extra admin tasks to be performed, namely verifying the edits on certain protected pages. Besides, yes I had the eliminator tag as well as the filemover tag both of which IMHO I was using as efficiently as I could possibly have. Amongst these two, the rollbacker rights were granted to me and I had myself requested for the filemover tag as I needed them for various edits. You can check my edits from the log. Both of them have been removed.

I appreciate your suggestion that I should apply for the sysop rights but honestly, I'm a little scared with the turn of events. Because I'm not sure that I understand all the functionings and policies a sysop should follow and it's quite likely that I might make many mistakes. I don't even understand why have the 'rollbacker' and 'filemover' flags been removed from hi.wiki (if at all) when they are very much present on atleast two wikis - en and commons. Hence, I humbly refuse your advice. As I wrote on in the above-referred comment, I have decided not to demand for any flag on any of the wikimedia projects. I'll be grateful if the community itself awards me any such or else, I'll happily do edits as a simple user :-) For now, I guess I need some cooling period and request you to take away the reviewer flag from me. This is a wiki, if you're scared about having flags there's something wrong. Rollback and deletion are perhaps the two most common sysop actions and are often enough to have sysop flag. If you don't know an area of the work you're technically allowed to do, just don't do it, that's the solution on wikis. Unless you plan using tools you don't know or block users you don't like (and I suppose you don't, because you seem a cautious and sensible user), don't be scared. I think I've had enough of your stupid jibes, personal attacks and pointless arguments. You clearly do not understand Wikipedia policies/guidelines regarding what constitutes duplication of files. Moreover, you show no inclination of learning/following them either and are even contemptuous of them. Merely attaching something which seems "आकर्षक" to you and you alone does not make it worthy enough of valuable space on Wikipedia/Wikimedia servers. You should be glad that automated action request against vandals don't work on hi.wiki and I'm too lazy to do it manually. Else, I would have already reported you.
