प्रकाशदीप एक मीनार या इमारत होती है, जो प्रकाश संकेत प्रसारित करने के लिए होती है। यह किसी भी प्रणाली से प्रकाश किरण प्रसारित करती है। पुराने समय में आग जला कर यह काम होते थे, क्योंकि वर्तमान समय में विद्युत एवं अन्य कई साधन हैं। इसका उद्देश्य सागर में जहाजों के चालकों या नाविकों को खतरनाक चट्टानों से आगाह करना होता है।ये पथरीली तटरेखा, खतरनाक चट्टानों व बंदरगाहों की सुरक्षित प्रवेश को सूचित करने केल इए होते हैं। पहले काफी प्रयोग होते रहे इन प्रकाश दीपों का प्रयोग इनके महंगे अनुरक्षण एवं जी पी आर एस तकनीक सहित अन्य उन्नत सुविधाओं के आने से बहुत ही कम हो गया है।
