चौहान
चौहान वंश या चव्हाण भारत मे पाया जाने वाला गोत्र है जो कई जातियों मे पाया जाता है जैसे राजपूत[1], कोली[2], जाट[3], गुर्जर[4] एवं लोनिया।[5]

इतिहासकारों के अनुसार, चौहान चार अग्निकुल या 'अग्निस्प्रंग' कुलों में से एक है, जो असुरों या राक्षसों के खिलाफ लड़ने के लिए माउंट आबू में एक बलि अग्निकुंड से अपनी उत्पत्ति प्राप्त करता है। अग्निकुल मूल को 16वीं शताब्दी के बाद से रासो की बाद की पांडुलिपियों द्वारा कायम रखा गया था। जेम्स टॉड का विचार था कि चौहान अग्निकुलों में सबसे बहादुर थे।
कई विद्वानों के अनुसार, अग्निकुल कुल मूल रूप से राजपूत थे[6] और चौहान राजपूतों के प्रमुख वंश थे।[7]
